I reread Laches today. I'm not exactly sure how the "submission - out of pride?" relates specifically to that... but it does bring up some interesting points on the nature of discipleship. Oh and in reference to your Husserl post, I have always thought that Husserl would have been a better philosopher if he had not been a mathematician. Remember, the Logical Investigations is a response to Descartes.... I always found Heidegger more insightful because of his more well-rounded background in philosophy... as an aside...
